Alaungdaw Kathapa | Discover the Wetland | Pho Kyar Forest Camp | Mogok | Myitkyina

Alaungdaw Kathapa

National Park where you really get Jungle experience. Situated in the Sagaing Division, Alaungdaw Kathapa is a place where there dwell many wild animals from common ones like monkeys and deer to rare beauties such as hornbills, antelopes and mountain goats. Tigers and panthers can sometimes be seen from the roadside. Numerous crystal clear streams run through the area and rare species orchids and butterflies can be found in the deep forests. It offers a safe, comfortable and unforgettable jungle experience. Can also take elephant ride.

Discover the Wetland

70 miles north of Yangon lays Moyingyi Wetlands. The Wetlands in 100 km area entertains the natural beauty and wonders of wetlands. Moyingyi is co-operating to contain migrated as well as domestic birds. Birds watch tour by a private deck balcony attached to the boat is enjoyable. Each year millions of birds fly south from the northern hemisphere along the east Australasian fly away to escape the winter weather. They stop to rest and feed in Asia from November to March.

Pho Kyar Forest Camp

Situated in the dense forest of Bago Yoma (mountain range) crossing, west of Thagara township, Taunggo division. It is one of the most beautiful eco-tourism sites. For your rest and relax, wood camps are built under teak trees all furnished with different famous types of wood. A rope bridge crossing the Thine steam winding the camps is also a pleasant sight scene. The rare beauty of Pho-kyar is elephants dance show of the tamed elephants. The other interesting is elephant working in logging operation.

Above all of these is the elephant ride for about 30 minutes round trip of two miles in the forest. Have the greet of Pho-kyar’s elephants welcoming you with the snow towels.

Mogok

200 km north of Mandalay, Mogok is famous for gem mines of rubies and sapphires. The town is nestled in a valley at 1170-meters around a large lake. At about thousand meters above sea level, the mountain basin surrounding the “Ruby Land” enjoys a fairly temperate climate. Shan, Lisu, Palaung, Kachin, Burma, all vying for a piece of the gem action or its attendant industries. It is about 6½ hours drive from Mandalay.

Myitkyina

Myitkyina is the capital of Kachin State and is set in a broad valley surrounded by the northern hills of Myanmar. Famous sites are Indawgyi Lake, Jade mines and Myit Son, the very start of the legendary Ayeyarwaddy River.
